Frequently Asked Questions

When should I get my oil changed?

You should get your oil changed every 5,000 km, or as recommended in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.

How often should I rotate my tires?

It is recommended that you get your tires rotated every other oil change, or every 10,000 km. Rotating your tires can help prolong the life of the tires by preventing premature tread wear.

What does it mean if my “check engine” or “service engine soon" light comes on?

There are many sensors and computerized components that manage your vehicle’s engine performance and emissions. When one of those fails, it triggers the “check engine” light to turn on. Although it may appear that your vehicle is running the same, it is important to have the issue addressed to prevent long-term problems.

Why do preventative maintenance?

A properly maintained vehicle will operate more efficiently, be more dependable, last longer and ensure a safer ride for you and your family. Your owner’s manual outlines detailed maintenance schedules that should be performed on all your vehicle’s components and systems. These maintenance schedules are mileage driven.

When should I replace my vehicle’s fuel filter?

To help ensure dependable, trouble free performance, replace your fuel filter every 50,000 km, or as recommended in your vehicle’s owner’s manual. However, not all vehicles are equipped with an external fuel filter.

Do I need to take my vehicle to the dealership to maintain my warranty?

No! The Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA) has issued a statement that it is not mandatory that you return your vehicle to the dealership in means to maintain your vehicle’s warranty. However, you are still responsible for following the schedule in your owner’s manual for oil change intervals and other required services, as well as documenting these services.

Are all replacement parts created equal?

No! Parts are not all the same. Over the last decade, there has been an unbelievable increase of poor quality parts in the market. They come from all over the world, and a brand name does not necessarily guarantee that a part is a high quality part. Due to the expansion of low cost parts, even reputable part manufactures now offer a "value" line of parts. They have done this because they were losing market share to the imports of low price,  low quality parts.
